New collaboration with J.J. Emerson at the University of California, Irvine, Colin Meiklejohn and Kristi Montooth at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln; and Amanda Larracuente at the University of Rochester to uncover the complextity of heterochromatic regions from closely related Drosophila species from the D. simulans clade. We are using single-molecule real-time sequencing aka. PacBio sequencing to obtain ~100 X coverage from these species. Stay tuned for more updates, or follow us at the collaboration webpage.
